COWSHEDS, DAIRIES, MILKSHOPS,
SLAUGHTER-HOUSES AND BAKEHOUSES.
These have been inspected quarterly by myself in
conjunction with the Sanitary Inspector, and at intermediate
periods by the Sanitary Inspector. Generally
speaking no serious defects were found and their condition
has been satisfactory.
The numbers of these premises in the District are
.as follows :—

The one cowshed at present in the district was
established during the year, and the conditions then
were far from satisfactory. The owner has, however,
put the cowshed into such a condition as to comply
with the Regulations, and is at the present time building
a dairy in connection with the business.
As a result of visits to small shopkeepers in the
District during the year, four unregistered milk dealers
were found. These were warned, with the following
result : three ceased to sell milk, and one applied for
registration and duly complied with the regulations.
