Complaints.
During the year 245, complaints as to insanitary
conditions were received, and duly investigated.
Infectious Disease.

Eighty-two inspections of premises were made in connection with the investigation of notifiable infectious disease. Disinfections were carried out as follows:—

Housing Inspection.
Considerable difficulty has still been experienced
during the year in getting houses put into a thorough
state of repair, as distinct to dealing with the more
urgent matters. Six houses have been dealt with
under the Housing (Inspection of District) Regulations,
1910.
Greater progress is already being made during the
present year.
Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest (Restriction)
Act, 1920.
Five applications under the above were received
during the year. The premises were duly inspected,
and in each case a certificate was issued.
Sanitary Inspection of Places of Public
Entertainment.
The whole of the places of public entertainment
were inspected under the Ministry of Health Circular,
No. 120.
Serious defects were found to exist at one hall and
on the attention of the Licencee being called to them
were remedied, and in other cases minor defects were
dealt with.
