REPORT ON THE WORK OF THE WEALDSTONE
MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE CLINIC.
The Voluntary Centre closed in March, 1920, and.
re-opened in May, 1920, under the direct control of
the District Council at the Y.M.C.A. Buildings in the
High-street. The same Lady Medical Officer was
appointed and held office for some months, when she
had to resign to take up an appointment abroad. Dr.
Nora Beaumont was then appointed Medical Officer
and has carried on the work very successfully. Nurse
Lee, our Health Visitor, was appointed Superintendent
of the Centre and has by her activity and keenness,,
well justified her appointment to the position. A large
measure of praise is also due to the voluntary workers
whose services have been invaluable. The work has
been very successful and the attendance increases so
much that it will probably be necessary before long
to arrange for two sessions per week instead of one
as at present. The following is a summary of the
work done from May 6th, 1920, to April 30th, 1921:—
Number of children attending
