The Housing of the District is being gradually increased
by private enterprise.
In so far as the Council's housing Scheme is concerned
the necassary land has been purchased and the scheme prepared.
The Ministry of Health, London Housing Board, however, in February
of this year (1921) agreed to the Scheme being deferred owing
to the uncertain conditions prevailing in the District.
No houses are existing in the District in such a state as
to require closing or demolition.
