General Sanitary Condition of Orsett.
The Orsett Rural Sanitary District consists of Extent of district
the whole of the Orsett Poor Law Union, with
the exception of the parish of Grays Thurrock.
It contains 39,764 acres, and a population of popuiation 19,912, Census, 1901.

The number of Births registered during the year
was 701, of which 340 were boys and 361 girls ; the
number of Deaths, 291.

estimated—was 33.28. The Death-rate per 1,000
per annum—population estimated—was 13.81. The
corrected Death-rate (i.e. taking away the 26 Deaths
