As will be seen from the Table, six of the cases died from
Encephalitis Lethargica, and one from Influenza.
Two of the cases are still under treatment, but recovering,
and eight have recovered without any after effects.
Two of the cases were not Encephalitis Lethargica, and one
of these died from Influenza, and the other suffered from Tonsilitis.
Of the cases notified in 1920 Nos. 7, 14, 15, and 17 have
recovered, Nos. 9 and 12 are improving, and the condition of
No. 5 is stationary.
Polio=myelitis and Polio-encephalitis.
Seven cases were notified during the year and two deaths
resulted. Three have recovered without paresis or paralysis, one
is improving but has still slight paresis, and one was diagnosed
at the hospital as Rheumatic Fever.
Of the cases notified in 1919 No. 3 has right arm still paralysed;
Nos. 4 and 6 have recovered; No. 7 is recovering slowly;
and No. 8 has still dropped foot on right side, but is otherwise
well.
