of a centrally situated clinic will permit of the development of certain
ancillary branches of the Maternity and Child Welfare service. The
Committee decided, therefore, to recommend the Council to acquire
certain premises in Amersham Road, which will afford, in conjunction
with a portion of adjacent land (already in the possession of the
Council), a suitable site for the erection of the modern building contemplated
by the Council and now sanctioned by the Ministry of Health.
