III. Food Poisoning.
During the year the compulsory notification by medical practitioners
of persons suffering or suspected to be suffering from food poisoning
came into effect. It is to be noted that no definition of food poisoning
is given in the Act, and some cases were accordingly notified where the
suspected food did not fall within the category of those foods which we
have been hitherto accustomed to regard as of potential danger.

The following is an analysis of the notifi according to the causal agent:—

In addition to a copy of each certificate being forwarded to the County
