Refuse Collection. There is a weekly collection throughout the
Borough, disposal being effected by barge. During the year 449 dustbins
were provided by owners as a result of notices served.
Co-oberation with the District Surveyor. It came to my notice
that, in the execution of repairs under Dangerous Structure Notices
served by the London County Council, hardship might fall upon tenants
occupying houses certified in this way as dangerous. The District
Surveyor now informs me of the issue of such notices in order that
steps may be taken to ensure that tenants are not left exposed to the
weather and, further, that their rights under the Rent, etc. (Restrictions)
Act are not endangered.
Water Certificates. The Borough Council was advised that certificates
in respect of an efficient water supply in 39 new premises could
properly be granted.
Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest (Restrictions) Acts. In
two instances certificates were applied for and, being favourably considered,
were subsequently granted.
