Infant Deaths. Infantile Mortality Rate.

139 Infants died before attaining the age of one year, i.e., 76 per
1,000 of the births registered. Of this number 9 were illegitimate,
representing an illegitimate infant mortality rate of 130 per 1,000.
The mortality amongst infants in the various wards is shown in the
following table:—
