Infant Mortality.
During 1922 the deaths of 254 infants were registered as belonging
to Battersea. The total number of births registered during the
year was 3,665, giving an infant mortality-rate of 69.3. This is
the lowest infant death-rate yet recorded in Battersea.

The infant mortality-rates in Battersea and in London for the years which have elapsed since the formation of the Borough, as well as for the previous decennium, are set out in the following table:—

year 1922 was 74.4 per 1,000 births.
