FOOD AND FOOD PREMISES.
There are three Inspectors engaged in the sampling of food
and in the supervision of food premises in the Borough. Special
attention is given to markets and stalls, and frequent visits are
made to these premises in the evening and during week-ends.
The five slaughterhouses are visited on many occasions and one
of the Inspectors is present on nearly all occasions when slaughtering
is taking place.
The following Table gives the number of food premises and
slaughterhouses, and shows the number of inspections made,
the notices served and prosecutions taken.
