the chances of recovery, or will enable the patient to remain at
work or to return to work at an early date. During the year
under consideration 132 patients have been granted extra
nourishment under the scheme at a cost of £132 9s. 2d. The
scheme has been found to be of great help in the treatment of
the types of patient mentioned above.
Open Air Shelters.—The seven shelters owned by the
Council have been in constant use during the year.
The two Tables which follow show the original classification
of all the patients suffering from Tuberculosis who have attended
the Dispensaries since they were opened in 1913, and their
condition at the end of 1932 as far as it is known. Table
XXIX. refers to cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Table
XXX. to cases of Nonpulmonary Tuberculosis.
