13, 15, 17 & 19, Chadwick-street—
These houses were closed on an order made by the Police
Magistrate on the 7th day of December, the owner having failed
to comply with the Vestry's notice, ordered on the 30th day of
September, and the houses were unoccupied at the close of
the year.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9, York-buildings, Grub-street—
These premises being unfit for human habitation, notices were
served on October the 6th, and they have since been provided
with means of ventilation.
32, 34 & 36, Ship-court—
On the 12th day of October the Vestry decided to take the
necessary steps, under the direction of their solicitor, to obtain
the closing of these houses, but in consequence of certain negotiations
which were pending to purchase two of them for the
purpose of a street improvement, the notices had not been served
before the end of the year.
I have the honour to be, Gentlemen,
Your faithful Servant,
BARNARD HOLT,
Medical Officer of Health.
