There are 244 butchers shops in the Borough. 90G inspections
were made to these shops and the meat exposed for sale lias been
examined regularly.
Under the Public Health Meat Regulations, 1924, every butcher
is required to do all that is reasonably necessary to guard against
the contamination of meat by flies, filth and dust. It is
satisfactory to be able to report that these Regulations are being
observed. No prosecutions under the Regulations were necessary
during the year.
