Table XXXVII. gives a summary of the sanitary operations
carried out in the Borough during the year.
The number of drains which were tested was 1,216, and of
these 839 were found to be in a defective condition. The
drains of 49 houses were re-constructed.
Damp conditions have been remedied in 1,214 premises,
and in 146 of these damp courses were inserted.
31 privies and earth closets are known to be in existence
in the Borough, and all of these are in connection with sports
grounds.
It will be seen from this Table that 127 cases of overcrowding
were abated.
38 of these cases were accommodated in London County
Council houses, and 89 elsewhere.
