Table XXXV. gives a summary of the sanitary operations
carried out in the Borough during the year.
The number of drains which were tested was 1,758, and of
these 807 were found to be in a defective condition. The
drains of 75 houses were re-constructed.
Damp conditions have been remedied in 1,052 premises,
and in 74 of these damp courses were inserted.
14 privies and earth closets are known to be in existence
in the Borough, and all of these are in connection with sports
grounds.
It will be seen from this Table that 224 cases of overcrowding
were abated.
Two of these cases were accommodated in Wandsworth
Borough Council houses and 49 in London County Council
houses.
