Of the 378 Retail Milksellers' premises, 280 are dairies, 77 where
milk is sold in containers as received, 17 where milk is sold for consumption
on the premises only, and four are used as depots only. There is
one dairy used for wholesale only.
There are two premises licensed to bottle "Grade A (Tuberculin
Tested)" milk and at these premises six samples of "Grade A (Tuberculin
Tested)" milk were procured and submitted to the Public Analyst
for bacteriological examination. These were certified to comply with
the requirements of the Order.
Total number of licences to sell graded milk 43

One Licence was continued by the purchaser of an existing business
at which Grade A (T.T.) milk was sold.
MILKSELLERS.
1,787 inspections of the various milkshops, dairies, etc., were made.
The following nuisances were discovered, in respect of which eight
intimation notices were served:—
Dirty condition of walls 3 cases.
Dirty condition of ceilings 3 cases.
Unsuitable utensils 1 case.
Milkshop opening into sleeping room 1 rase.
Total 8 cases.
In addition to the above, cleansing generally was carried out as
required.
During the year eight retail and five wholesale milksellers, whose
premises are outside this Borough, were registered to sell milk in the
Borough of Southwark.
One retailer discontinued to sell milk in the Borough.
