PUBLIC HOUSE URINALS.
During the past year considerable attention has been paid on my
instructions as to the prevailing conditions of the public house urinals in
the Borough. Many have been improved, both in regard to the sanitary
condition, also in respect to decency.
There are 234 licensed houses in the Borough, of these 101 have
urinals approached from the street; 127 are situated indoors or
approached through the house, and 8 have no accommodation, these
being in close proximity to Public Conveniences. Two houses have conveniences
both indoors and out, and 6 houses have accommodation for
ladies.
As a rule the conveniences are open during business hours, but 2
remain open all night.
As a whole the conveniences show great improvement, and are clean
and well kept, only 2 being unsatisfactory, these have been dealt with.
ICE CREAM REGULATIONS.
Under these regulations 94 premises have been inspected and found
suitable for the storage or sale of Ice Cream, and permission granted to
carry on the trade.
A register is kept of all the premises in accordance with the requirements
of the Regulations.
During the year, all the premises on our register were systematically
visited and any sanitary or other defects likely to contaminate the
product were remedied.
On the whole the premises are in a cleanly condition, and all
necessary precautions taken.
