CARRIAGEWAY PAYING.
The following works at the cost stated have been executed by
the contractor during the past year :—
Welch's Buildings, Curtain Road.—Carriageway paved with
new 4x4x4 inch granite pitchings on concrete, and
grouted *£125 10s. 2d.
Bath Place, Whist on Street.—Carriageway paved with old
redressed granite pitchings, carted from Stone Yard, on
concrete, and grouted £67 5s. 1d.
Wilmer Gardens.—A further portion of channel, paved with
new 6 x 4 inch granite pitchings, on concrete, and
grouted £8 13s. 0d.
Craven Street. - Carriageway repaved with old redressed
granite pitchings, carted from Hoxton Street and Stone
Yards, on concrete, and grouted £254 2s. 9d.
Wenlock Street.—A portion of channel repaved with new
6x4 inch granite pitchings, on concrete, and grouted,
£24 9s. Od.
Ebenezer and Colling wood Streets.— Old tram stones carted
irom Stone Yards and fixed to form channels; the
remainder of carriageway paved with old redressed
granite pitchings carted from Yard, on concrete and
grouted £69 7s. 1d.
Westmoreland Place.—Channels repaved with old redressed
granite pitchings, carted from Stone Yard, on concrete,
£31 7s. 2d.
Hoxton Street, narrow portion, and junction of Whitmore
Road.—Carriageway repaved with new 3x7 inch
granite pitchings, and old redressed and undressed
pitchings, on concrete, and grouted £824 6s. 3d.
Paved granite crossings (private), as follows: —
Ashe Street, late Short Street (east side) * £8 7s. 3d.
Fanshaw Street (south side) * £3 9s. 9d.
Harwar Street, No. 2 * £6 9s. 4d.
Great James Street, No. 31.—Taken up and relaid by the
Vestry's workmen to allow additional headway, *£0 16s. l0d.
