road and Great Cambridge street and part of Hackney road, with an
outfall into the middle sewer in Bethnal Green road. This is a
provision which has long been needed, but before the advantages of
it can be afforded to the neighbourhood intended to be benefitted,
it will be necessary for the Yestry to re-construct several local
sewers, and probably to raise a considerable loan for the purpose.
There is reason also to believe that the Metropolitan Board will
shortly find it necessary to re-construct the entire length of sewer
from Great Cambridge street to Shoreditch.
THE METROPOLITAN BOARD.
An Aot has passed for increasing by thirteen the number of
Members of this Board, but Shoreditch is not affected.
THE TOWN HALL.
During the year the Large Hall has been let 169 times; the
Council Chamber 7 times; the Committee Rooms have been used

The receipts for letting Hall, Counoil Chamber, and Committee
Rooms were £1,117.
