483 cases of contagious diseases were reported to the Sanitary
Department, of which 30 were cases of small-pox. 23 of the
small-pox cases were removed to Hospital, 6 were not removed
and 1 died. Much care was taken to prevent the spread of this
disease by isolating the sick and disinfecting the houses.

5 dozen haddocks.
SALE OF FOOD AND DRUGS ACT.—See Analyst's

REMOVAL OF DUST.—During the year ending 25th March,
1883, the dust on the whole has been fairly removed from the
Parish, and there has been a slight decrease in the number of
applications for removal of duet from private dwellings than in the
previous year.
