Inspector Alexander's report records that water for drinking
purposes has been supplied direct from the Water Companies'
mains, instead of cisterns in 654 dwellings and instead of waterbutts
in 24 premises.
The New River Company now has had several year's experience
of the working of the "Constant Supply" in Shoreditch, and I
avail myself of this opportunity of stating, that they have expressed
their desire to co-operate in an increasing degree with the Sanitary
Authority in extending its usefulness throughout the Parish;
and they have promptly acceeded to the request of your Medical
Officer.
DUST REMOVAL, SCAVENGING, AND
WATERING ROADS.
The Inspector has instituted improved registers that will
facilitate enquiries into,—and that will enable the Vestry to judge
of the work done.
I am,
Your obedient Servant,
H. G. SUTTON,
Medical Officer of Health.
