Notices served requiring occupiers to disinfect
articles liable to retain infection in 391 premises.
395 cases of contagious diseases were reported to the Sanitarydepartment,
of which 223 were cases of small pox. Much care
was taken to prevent the spread of this disease, by isolating the
sick and disinfecting the houses, drains, &c. 137 of the above
small pox cases were removed to the small pox hospital, 61 were
not removed, and 25 died.

REMOVAL OP DUST.—During the year ending 25th
March, 1881, the dust on the whole has been fairly removed from
the Parish, and there has been about the same number of applications
for the removal of dust from private dwellings, except during
the month of March, when an increase took place, but the
numbers were soon reduced.

with the number of applications during the previous three years
is shewn below:—
