In the cow-houses of the Eastern Division there were
(at the time of my inspection) 177 cows; and in the
Western, 234, making a total of 411, as against 408 of
the previous year.
The average cubic space for each cow in the sheds
throughout the parish was 860 feet (measured) as against
893 of the previous year.
I inspected every cow-house at least four times
during the year, and on the whole I found them fairly
clean.
The cow-sheds at No. 15, Hearn Street, Curtain
Road, have been discontinued in consequence of alteration
of premises.
No fresh applications have been received for licenses
for cow-houses.
REMOVAL OF DUST.—During the year ending 25th March,
1879, the dust on the whole has been fairly removed from
the parish, and there has been a less number of applications
for the removal of dust from private dwellings than in
previous years, more particularly in the Western Division
of the parish. The number of applications during the
past year compared with the number of applications
during the previous three years is shewn below.
