Inspector Fletcher reports that 309 infected dwellings
were disinfected by sulphur fumigation and by free
exposure to the open air, washing with carbolic

156 infected beds, 110 mattresses, a large number of
pillows, making with other articles a total of 1336, were
disinfected at the disinfecting oven.
COW HOUSES.—There are 37 cow houses in the parish containing
411 cows; in the previous year there were 408
cows.
Inspector Fletcher reports that he inspected these
premises four times during the year, and found them on
the whole fairly clean, paved and ventilated, according to
the Vestry's regulations.
The space allowed each cow averaged 860 cubic feet.
Two old cow houses were abolished; no new ones
were established in the year.
REMOVAL OF DUST.—17,000 to 18,000 loads of dust were
removed during the year; the dusting generally has been
better done than in previous years, especially in the
Western Division.
I have the honour to be, Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
HENRY G. SUTTON,
Medical Officer of Health.
