As regards the general condition of the Parish, I beg to state that
the carriageway paving (with few exceptions) is in very fair order. The
following places must, before long, be re-paved—such as
H igh-street, Shoreditch (George-street to Boundary)
Hoxton-street (portions of)
New North-street
Commercial-street
Bethnal Green-road (portion in this Parish), and
Holy well-lane
The majority of the footways are now in a satisfactory condition,
the repairs during the year being very considerable.
The condition of the sewerage is very satisfactory, the sewers being
comparatively free from deposit, and there being but few places in the
Parish without efficient means of drainage.
