To the Medical Officer of Health.
Sir,
I beg to submit to you a report of the work done during the year 1907 in connection
with workplaces where women are employed.
Inspections.—During the year 1,212 premises have been inspected, and 1,710 visits
and re-inspections paid. The inspections are as follows: —
Factories 192
Workshops, including Laundries 1,020
Miscellaneous calls and re-inspections 1,710
Total 2,922
The workshops inspected comprised 1,624 workrooms.
Factories.—There were on the Register of Factories at the end of the year 161 Factory
premises where women are employed. The industries are as follows: —
