PUERPERAL FEVER.
Twenty-one cases were notified, and were in the proportion of 2.46 per
1,000 women who had borne children during the year. The cases were 4 less
than the average of the preceding 10 years, while the attack rate was 0.09
lower than the mean rate that obtained in the 10 years 1897-1906.
In London the proportion of cases to parturient women was 2.09 per 1,000,
and in the Encircling Districts 1.54.
Hospital Isolation.—Only 10 cases were nursed in hospital, or 47.6
per cent. of the entire number.
