Pleasant Row, opposite Nos. 10, 11 and 12.
40 feet of 9-in. pipe, at a cost of £7 12s. 6d.
Offord Road, from Arundel Place to No. 155, Offord Road.
170 feet of 12-in. pipe, and 1 lamphole, ventilated at a
cost of £51 15s. 9d.
In addition to the above works there have also been constructed
4 side entrances, 2 lampholes, and 47 gullies, at a cost of £453 12s. 1d.,
making a total for the year of 12 manholes, 8 lampholes, 4 side
entrances, and 47 gullies.
The amount paid by way of contribution for the right of entry
into sewers constructed at the expense of the Vestry has been
£100 19s. 0d.
2,021 loads of sludge were removed from the sewers and gullies of
the parish during the 1 2 months and carted away by the Vestry's carts.
All the small sewers were flushed during the summer at a cost for
the supply of water of £164 10s. 1d.
The gullies and ventilators were as usual freely deodorized.
The sum of £1,066 2s. 0d. has been expended for repairs and
alterations to existing sewers.
The wages of the 3 foremen and 22 sewermen employed by the
Vestry have amounted to £2,122 1s. 1d. These men were supplied
with the usual sewer boots and clothing at a total cost of £62 0s. 6d.
The total number of gullies in the parish, including 13 constructed
in the "new streets" taken under the jurisdiction of the Vestry during
the year, is 4,712.
