THE "SALE OF FOOD AND DRUGS ACTS" FOR THE
YEAR 1892.
In concluding this Annual Statement, 1 have to report that
during the twelve months ending December, 1892, 364 samples of
food and drugs were submitted by the Inspectors, and examined by
the Public Analyst, Dr. Teed, and that 3 samples were sent to him by
the Public.
Of these samples 65 were adulterated. In 44 cases prosecutions
followed, and fines ranging from 5s. to £10 were inflicted. In seven
instances the cases were dismissed.

The 367 samples submitted and the results of their analyses are as follows:—
