Library catalogues, which will be delivered at the branch on
the day following application, if available. The Branch
has now been opened and the Committee trust the inhabitants
of the district will make good use of this extension of the
Library, and find it of service.
Lighting and Decoration.—The improvement in lighting
foreshadowed in the last report has been successfully
accomplished by the installation of the electric light in every
part of the Library, and the result has been highly satisfactory,
all the rooms being very well lighted. A scheme for cleaning
and decorating the Library is under consideration by a
special sub-committee, and it is hoped to have this important
and very necessary work carried out before the Library is
transferred to the new Borough Council of Finsbury.
Miscellaneous.—The usual Library publications have
been punctually issued, and the preparation of the last
portion of the Class Guide—devoted to the miscellaneous
classes—is in an advanced state. The best thanks of the
Committee are due for the various gifts of books, periodicals,
etc., enumerated on pp. 9 to 11 of this report.
On behalf of the Library Committee,
ARTHUR MILLWARD,
Chairman.
