Margarine Act—Penalties.—A judgment of the
Queen's Bench Division in Beg v. Titter ton, that
penalties under the Margarine Act are payable to
the local authorities, instead of to the Receiver of
the Police as had been assumed by the Police
Court authorities, the Vestry directed that application
be made to the Receiver of Police for repayment
of penalties resulting from the Vestry's
prosecutions since the passing of the Act, and the
amount has been paid.
Public Health (London) Act, Byelaws.—In
April, 1895, a case was before the Magistrate at
the Police Court, on the prosecution or the Vestry,
where the Improved Industrial Dwellings Company
had been proceeded against for fixing a hopper pan
