Analyst's Report.

To the Vestry of St. James and St. John,
Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you a report upon the
samples submitted to me for Analysis, under the Sale of Food
and Drugs Acts, during the year ending 31st March, 1896.
The total number of samples of food and drugs examined during this period was 228. In the previous five years the numbers were as follows :—

Of these samples 101 were handed to me by Inspector W. J.
Bartlett, 99 by Inspector W. Green, and 28 by Inspector W. P.
Elisor. Mr. Elisor, who was recently appointed, has only submitted
samples during the last quarter of the year.
In the following table will be found a statement of the articles
analysed during each quarter of the year :—
