WORKS COMMITTEE

Dusting, Slopping, &c.,
For the Year to March 25th, 1896.
Dusting.—During the year 9313 loads of dust and 868
loads of trade refuse have been removed from the Parish.
After sifting same, 137 freights of ashes and breeze, containing
9079 chaldrons have been removed from the Wharf, for which a
sum of £643 10s. 4d. has been received, being an average of
£4 14s. Od. per freight, as compared with £4 7s. 3d.,
£3 16s. 5d. and £3 13s. 8d. for the three previous years. 19
freights of hardcore have been removed, for which barges have
been hired at a cost of £87 13s. 6d.
The following is a statement of the cost of disposal of the
dust for the year:—
