The number of deaths arising from the principal zymotic
diseases in the Parish in 1894 was 115; 88 less than in the preceding
year.

The number and the causes of deaths from zymotic diseases occurring in Clerkenwell during the last ten years are exhibited in the following table:—

Forty-three deaths also occurred from zymotic diseases in extraparochial
hospitals, viz.: 9 from scarlet fever; 22 from
diphtheria; 1 from whooping cough; 5 from typhoid fever; and
6 from diarrhœa.
The average number of deaths occurring in the Parish from
the principal zymotic diseases during the past ten years was
182 ; so that the number for 1891 was 67 less than the average.
