INSPECTOR'S REPORT
For the Quarter ending 31st March, 1888.
Gentlemen,
I beg respectfully to report that during the
Quarter ending 31st March, 1888, I purchased and
submitted to the Public Analyst the following
articles of food, viz. : 4 milk, 4 coffee, 1 mustard.
Harriet Chipps, 66, Compton Street, coffee
adulterated with 15 percent. of chicory. No
action taken, the vendor having emoved before
summons could be issued. C/2 10.
M. Jenks & Co., 21, St. John's Lane, coffee
adulterated with 25 percent. of chicory. No action
taken by advice of solicitor. C/2 8.
Harriet Edwards, 122, St. John Street, for selling
milk adulterated with 26 percent. of added water.
Fined £10, and 12s. 6d. costs, or one month.
C/2 6.
Joseph Settley, 11, Berry Street, for selling
coffee adulterated with 30 percent. of chicory.
Fined 20s., and 12s. 6d. costs. C/2 11.
