INSPECTOR'S REPORT,
For the Quarter ending December 31st, 1887.
To the Vestry of the Parish of St. James and St.
John, Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I beg respectfully to report that during
the quarter ending December 31st, 1887, I purchased
and submitted to the Analyst, the following
articles:—11 milk, 7 butter, 3 coffee, 3 mustard, 1
whisky.
C 61. Ann Morris, 57, Wynyatt Street, for
selling milk adulterated with 11 per cent of added
water. Fined 50/-, 2/- costs.
C 64. Eliza Garrett, 76, Southampton Street,
selling butter adulterated with 70 per cent of
foreign fats. Fined 20/-, 2/- costs.
C 67. Henry Smith, 27, Penton Street, for
selling butter adulterated with 70 percent. of
foreign fats. Fined 20/-, 2/- costs.
C 79. Eliza Padgham, 97, White Lion Street,
selling butter adulterated with 85 percent. of
foreign fats. Fined 40/-, 12/6 costs.
C 82. Benjamin Matthews, 42, Amwell Street,
selling coffee adulterated with 25 percent of
chicory. Fined £5, 12/6 costs.
C 83. John Billings, 46, Northampton Road,
selling milk adulterated with 25 percent. of added
water. Fined £5, 12/6 costs.
