Advowson of the Parish Church.'—The Ad-
vowson of the Parish Church, belonging to the
Parishioners, is vested in five Trustees appointed
by the Vestry. When the trustees are by death
reduced to two, other three parishioners must
be appointed to make up the number, and a conveyance
of the Advowson made to them by such
two survivors. This event happened during the
year now under review, by the death of Mr. W.
Gillingwater: Mr. Alexander Wright, and Mr.
Thomas Partridge, having previously died. On the
5th May, 1887, the Vestry appointed Mr. W. M.
Foxcroft, Mr. E. Sans and Mr. J. Gibson as such
trustees.
Vestry Hall. — The Vestry Hall being very
inadequate for the various purposes for which it is
needed, the Vestry have been considering the
question of providing increased accommodation for
the staff, and the ever increasing numbers of books,
and records of various kind: which it is necessary to
preserve as public documents. After considerable
negotiation, it was thought desirable that, if possible,
the freehold of the present building should be
secured in consequence of its central position and
its easy accessability from all parts of the Parish.
The lease from the New River Company, at £10 per
annum, would expire in about 10 years (1903), and
the Company offered to sell the freehold for the
sum of £2,132, or about 12s. per foot super. The
