The average number of deaths arising from the principal
zymotic diseases during the past ten years, was 225; so that the
number for 1883 was 10 less than the average.
The number of deaths arising from all diseases in infants
under 1 year of age, was 367; the same as in the preceding
year.
192 deaths occurred at and above 60; 25 more than in the
previous year.
98 inquest-deaths were registered in the year, being 12 less
than in the preceding year.
