INSPECTORS' REPORTS,
For the Quarter ending Lady-day, 1883.
To the Vestry of the Parish of Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I beg most respectfully to report that
during the quarter ended Lady-day, 1883, I purchased
and submitted to the analyst 22 samples for analysis,
consisting of 8 Milk, 1 Sugar, 5 Mustard, 2 Pepper,
1 Coffee, 1 Rum, 2 Whisky, 1 Butter. None of the
samples were found to be adulterated.

To the Vestry of the Parish of Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I beg respectfully to report that during
the quarter I have taken to Dr. Redwood, the Analyst,
21 samples, consisting of 4 Mustards, 3 Peppers, 5
Milks, 1 Sweets, 1 Coffee, 1 Oatmeal, 1 Bread, 1 Tea,
1 Sugar, 2 Gin, and 1 Vinegar.
Mrs. Wiggett, general dealer, of Brewer Street,
was summoned to the Clerkenwell Police Court, on
March 22nd, for selling Coffee adulterated with 25
per cent. of Chicory, and fined 40s. and costs (sample
No. C. 30).
Mr. Gibson, cheesemonger, Penton Street, was
summoned on the same date for selling Milk adulterated
to the extent of 13 per cent. of added water,
and was fined 20s. and costs.
