For the Quarter ending 30th June, 1879.
To the Vestry of the Parish of Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I have received from your Inspectors during
the last quarter, 40 samples for analysis, consisting of
Bread, Butter, Milk, Flour, Oatmeal, Beer, Coffee,
Cocoa, Arrowroot, Mustard, Pepper, and Violet
Powder. Five of these samples, all consisting of Milk,
have been found to be adulterated, one with 30 per
cent., one with 27 per cent., one with 14 per cent.,
one with 11 per cent., and one with 7 per cent, of
water which has been added.
