Surbeyor's Report
To the Vestry of St. James ana St. John, Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I beg to submit the following Report for the year
ending Lady-day, 1880.
SEWERAGE AND SANITARY WORKS.
During the year 4 Sewers have been repaired where
required, and 92 have been thoroughly cleansed from
standing deposit; 4 entire new gully drains have been
laid down to sewers, and 281 gullies cleansed and
generally examined, and repaired; 94 loads of soil have
been removed from the sewers and gullies throughout
the Parish; 43 new house-drains have been laid down
and connected with the public sewers, consisting of 3
12-inch, 18 9-inch, and 22 6-inch, and 1 house drain
trapped. During the same period new 12-inch pipe
sewers have been constructed in Seabrooke Place, and
White Lion Buildings, and the existing old sewerage at
the rear connected with same. These pipe sewers are
connected with the main in White Lion Street.
