DISINFECTION.
(a) (i) During the year disinfection was carried out free
of charge at eleven premises as under
Tuberculosis 7
Miscellaneous 4
(ii) Disinfection was also carried out at twenty premises
where non-infectious illnesses had occurred on request, the
occupier in each case paying the cost.
(iii)ln two cases bedding was destroyed on request, the
occupier in each case paying the cost (non-infectious illness).
(b) The total number of articles disinfected by steam at the
Tolworth Hospital, or destroyed was

DISINFESTATION.
Method employed for disinfestation:Spraying
with insecticide 11
(b) School Canteens.
At the request of the,Surrey County Council thirteen school
canteens were sprayed with insecticide to prevent flies and other
insect pests, the-County Council paying the cost of the work.
(c) General.
Advice is frequently sought from the Department in theidentification
and measures for eradication of insect pests
of various kinds.
For the convenience of the public a small stock of
insecticides and sprayers is held in the Department, and these
articles.are sold at cost price when required. This service
seems to "be very.much .appreciated.
As in the. previous year a number of requests were received
