FACTORIES ACTS, 1937 to 1959 (cont).
Six certificates were issued under section 34 of the
Factories Act, 1937, that the factories to which they related
were provided with such means of escape in case of fire for
the persons employed therein as may he reasonably required in
the circumstances.
For many years the Council has been responsible for the
issue of Certificates as to Means of Escape in case of Fire
from certain types of factory, hut this duty was transferred
to the Surrey County Council as the fire authority on 1st
December, 1960.
There were 75 outworkers on the register at the end of
the year. Thirty-two visits were made hut no infringements
found.
