INFANT MORTALITY
There were fourteen deaths of children under one year of age.
It will be noted all but five died in the first hours of life;
one died at one week and four died within five months.
The causes and ages at death were as follows:—

Multiple congenital abnormalities | 5 hours |
Atelectasis; prematurity | 10 hours |

Duodenal atresia; prematurity | 1 week |
Cerebral haemorrhage | 9 hours |
Acute pneumococcal meningitis | 4 months |
Prematurity | 19 hours |
