SOCIAL CONDITIONS.
Surbiton is an attractive well favoured residential town
with many recreation grounds and open spaces. It flanlcs the
river and is close to Epsom Downs, two Royal Parks and Hampton
Court Palace.
Its population is healthy and enjoys many physical and social
amenities.
It is mainly a dormitory town hut many of the people are
engaged in local industry which comprises a variety of trades in
small modern factories.
It is a good shopping centre and well supplied with
communications by road and rail.
