MASS RADIOGRAPHY
The Mass X-ray Unit visited the Borough twice during the year.
On the first occasion it visited the Methodist Church, Moor Lane, Chessington, from 5th to 11th January, 1956, the result of the survey being as follows:-
Male | Female | |
---|---|---|
Total number examined | 416 | 460 |
Pulmonary Tuberculosis Inactive | 21 | 15 |
Non-tuberculous abnormalities | 21 | 22 |
No definitely active cases of pulmonary tuberculosis were
detected.
As the survey was carried out in very had weather conditions
the results obtained were encouraging though the numbers were
small.
The second survey was carried out at the Co-operative Hall, Broadway, Tolworth, from 19th to 27th November, 1956, the result being as under:-
Male | Female | |
---|---|---|
Total number examined | 1,431 | 1,731 |
Pulmonary Tuberculosis Active | 1 | 1 |
Pulmonary Tuberculosis Inactive | 27 | 27 |
Non-tuberculous abnormalities | 70 | 55 |
Cases not yet diagnosed | 14 | 16 |
This was the first time the Unit had visited this part of the
Borough, and the survey was planned as part of the Unit's policy
to set up in new places. The attendance proved the visit very
successful and well worth while.
