There were seventeen deaths of children under one year of age.
All were legitimate.

| Jaundice | 7 | months |
| Cardiac failure | 1 | day |
| Congenital heart disease | 9 | months |
| Congenital atelectasis lungs | 3 | days |
| Erythroblastosis fœtalis | 30 | minutes |
| Prematurity | 9 | days |
| Sub-dura1 hæmorrhage due to tentorial tear due to dystocia | 3 | hours |
Of the infant deaths fourteen occurred in hospitals or public
institutions outside the district of Surbiton.
