The statistics supplied by the Registrar General during 1954
show that the total number of registered live births allocated to
Surbiton was 816, 397 males and 419 females, the birth rate being
12.88 per 1,000 of the population. Of the total number of births
783 were legitimate and 33 (4.21 per cent) illegitimate.
In addition there were 13 still births, 4 male and 9 female.
